The pictures are fantastic. I especially love the one of Elissa and Jack. It's beautiful. I can imagine how proud you two are. His excitement for the day was contagious. Like a few others here I was tearing up. What a great happy day!

I just wanted to say thank you for making me once again, cry at my desk here at work. My co-workers think I'm the world's sappiest person.

So glad to hear things went so well! That pic of Jack and Elissa is gorgeous (that's when the first tear started!)- it reminds me of when I had to give that "goodbye hug" to Jaysen on his first day...

Looks like a great day. My eldest skipped into school no problem, the little one had a few tears the first day that ended before I got to the outside door. Again, daycare probably helped that adjustment. Took Mom a little longer.

A day book is good to go btwn home and school. But a recall chart would be better. One with all the activities on it (reading, circle, calendar, free time, computer etc) he can circle or colour them (bingo dabber) and you can discuss them at home.

I love the photo of Jack and Elissa. There is a look on her face that only a mother can muster. It says so much.

And so you know, it is very typical of kids (boys) to say "I don't remember" when asked about what they did in school. That's just BOYS.

This is great! I'm so glad it went well!! One of the best things my mom did on my first day of school was take a picture of my little brother when I got on the bus. He looked so dismayed!! You will treasure those pictures forever! Maybe Jack can fill out a little "what I did at school" sheet sometimes during the day. We had one that said "My favorite activity was__ for lunch I had ___" etc just to jog memories when the kids got home, and to give parents specific questions to ask/prompt.

Congrats Jack!
