I am currently on a chocolate eating marathon - it’s my ‘fall in a heap’ weekend (see yesterday’s post).  Will return to the real world and posting again tomorrow!

Does anyone know where I can get cheap chocolate? - I have come home to many empty wrappers, and a wife who is determined to devour anything that even resembles chocolate! Recipes for chocolate treats would also be appreciated!
It could be a very interesting weekend !!!!

Wish I could help Steve, but my personal chocolate tastes run along somewhat expensive lines…

My favorites are Scharffen Berger and Kekau Chocolatier… but again, not going to be of much help to your wallet.

Here’s one of my favorite recipes involving chocolate…

    Raspberry Truffle Brownies

    ½ cp butter or margarine
1 ¼ cup semisweet chocolate chips (I substitute chopped Scharffen Berger Semi Sweet chocolate)
    2 eggs
    ¾ cup packed brown sugar
    1 tsp instant coffee crystals
    2 TBS water
    ½ tsp baking powder
    ¾ cup all purpose flour

    Filling:

1 cup semisweet chocolate chips, 6 ounces
1 pkg, 8 ounces, cream cheese, softened
    ¼ cup confectioners sugar
1/3 cup seedless red raspberry jam

    Glaze:

¼ cup semisweet chocolate chips (I substitute chopped Scharffen Berger Semi Sweet chocolate)
    1 tsp shortening

IN a heavy saucepan, melt butter and chocolate chips over low heat. Cool slightly. In a large bowl beat eggs and brown sugar. Dissolve coffee crystals in water, add to egg mixture with melted chocolate. Mix well. Combine baking powder and flour, stir into chocolate mixture. Spread in greased 9 inch square pan. Bake at 350 for 30 minutes or until brownies test done. Cool. For filling, melt chocolate chips, cool. In a mixing bowl beat cream cheese until fluffy, add confectioners sugar and jam. Stir in melted chocolate; spread over cooled brownies. For glaze, melt chocolate chips and shortening. Drizzle over filling. Chill before cutting. Store in refrigerator.

**These are divine!! Hope your wife is enjoying her chocolate-fest!**
