Thanks heaps for the tips Bonnie - these ideas look good for play dates too!
We've made the decision to go, we have the bag packed with food alternatives and Steve has volunteered for supervision duties.
Will let you know how we go!

I give G a visual map. I say when I start to feel uncomfortable, I can a. go in another room and relax then join the party a little while later (its good to have a couple of options) I also include I can scream then my friends won't want to be near me. I can hit my friends then they will be sad and not want to play with me. The idea is to help your child see they have options on the way they handle uncomfortable situations and to prepare them w/ a plan ahead of time. I hope you go to the party and all works out well!!!
